
Introduction
CH McCollum embarked on his military career as an enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army, serving 16 remarkable years in various roles including Infantryman, Combat Medic, Practical Nursing Specialist, and Medical NCO. His early service took him to Fort Campbell, KY, where he cut his teeth as an air-assault infantryman. His overseas deployments include stints in Ramadi, Iraq from 2005-2006 and the mountains of Afghanistan from 2008-2009, as a proud Soldier of the 1-506th Infantry, more commonly recognized by the label, "The Band of Brothers."
My Story
Taking his calling to a spiritual dimension, he first earned his commission as a Chaplain Candidate and later reaffirmed his commission in 2021, after several years of service as a pastor leading congregations of up to 400 members. CH McCollum currently serves at Fort Cavazos, TX, in the esteemed role of Battalion Chaplain.
CH McCollum pursued higher education at Southern Adventist University, TN, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies with a minor in Psychology in 2012. His educational journey didn't stop there; he went on to earn a Master of Divinity from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI in 2019. Further, he holds multiple coaching certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming, and Mindfulness Meditation, among others. He is additionally certified in the Prepare-Enrich relationship assessment tool and the Grief Recovery Method®.
His military education is both extensive and diverse, including courses such as Air Assault, Warrior Leader Course, Resilience Training Assistant, Master Resilience Trainer (Level 1), and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. In recognition of his dedicated service, CH McCollum has been decorated with numerous military awards and decorations. These include 2 Meritorious Unit Citations, 1 Navy Unit Citation, 1 Combat Infantry Badge, and an Air-Assault badge, among others.
Married to Melissa McCollum, a specialist in lifecycle marketing and interactive media, the couple enjoys a life full of outdoor activities and simple joys. From kayaking to movie nights, their shared life is one of companionship and mutual growth, often accompanied by their beloved boxer puppy, Mocha.
